A picture of a couple that look almost exactly like us! What a coinkydink.

Hi, we're Annie & Noah

Both raised in Maryland, we've lived in quite a few places . Baltimore, Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco, now Seattle area with our 3 kids.

When our youngest started school several years ago, Annie was gearing up to get back into the 9 to 5 after being a full time mom for 13 years. We figured before finding a job, it wouldn't hurt to explore other opportunities.

Soooo.....why donuts?

Why brioche donuts? One of Annie's friends in the midwest was already making them and she'd thought she'd give it a try. Took about 2 months of experimenting to make the recipe her own and get it to where Annie was happy with (and honestly it's always evolving). Noah was on a low carb diet the whole time so that was funny too.... ha..... ha.

September 2022

Birth of Good Lazy

With a ton of anxiousness offset with encouragement from Noah, Annie started sharing and selling her donuts in our local town of Maple Valley, Washington. People would message her on Instagram, and she'd track orders in a spreadsheet (all super legit stuff). The very first order as only a handful of donuts, but what a crazy feeling to have complete strangers drive up to our house because they wanted Good Lazy donuts!

A question we get a lot is "Why's it called Good Lazy?"

We're big time cozy-homebodies-hang-out-and-chill-oh-look-lunch-is-over-whats-for-dinner type of people. We wanted a name that captured a similar vibe. We liked the concept of a lazy Sunday. Lazy tends to have a bad connotation, so we figured we'd be clear that there's 100% absolutely such a thing as a "good" lazy and even go as far as to argue it's the best parts in life.

Hence, Good Lazy Donuts.

December 2022

Good Lazy goes out in public for the 1st time

With home pickups steadily growing, the time felt right to see if more people would be into our donuts. So in December of 2022, we went to the Maple Valley Holiday Market with no idea how we'd do. Thanks in part to our small but loyal home pick-up customer base (aka the OG home pickup crew), the market was a great success!

May 2023 - Present

The Farmers Market

Starting in the summer of 2023, Good Lazy Donuts entered Maple Valley and Renton Farmers markets. in 2024 we wrapped up our 2nd season at both and looking forward to a great 2025 and beyond.

Side note, is Noah the only one that misses Noah's dope hand drawn chalk signs?! (Yes I'm talking about myself in the third person. So what. Embrace cringe.)

February 2025

Oh .. magawdddd. Our own kitchen and store!

After 2 seasons at the farmers markets, it started making more sense for us to get our own kitchen. We looked long and hard and finally found the spot of our first location in Issaquah, WA in the Highlands at Grand Ridge Plaze where we'll be able to serve our donuts and other new creations all year round.
